OIL is all set to conquer newer horizons of all-round growth and excellence. It is engaged in Exploration, Production and Transportation of crude Oil, Natural Gas and Manufacture of LPG with its field Headquarters at Duliajan, Dist. – Dibrugarh, Assam.
Oil India Limited intends to hire the following Instrumentation Engineers on contract basis for its onland operations in Assam purely for temporary requirement. The contract would be for a minimum period of six months, extendable by three six months tenure upto a maximum period of two years depending upon requirement and the performance of the individual. The details are given below:
  1. Post : Instrumentation Engineer on Contract
  2. Projected Requirements : 03
  3. Educational Qualification : Graduate Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or Electronics &Telecommunication
  4. Post Qualification Experience : Minimum 03 (three) years of working experience
  5. Remuneration : A consolidated contract fee of ` 45,000/- plus ` 3500/-as accommodation allowance and ` 1,500/- as medical allowance will be paid per month.
The projected requirements may change.
The candidates should have minimum experience of 03 (three) years in any Govt./Public/Private sector organization of repute.
Experience requirement, Job profile & responsibilities Skill and Post Qualification Experience:
  1. Minimum 3 (three) year(s) of working experience in maintenance, calibration, repairing & testing of both Pneumatic & Electronic Instrumentation in any Govt./Public/Private sector organization of repute.
  2. The candidates should have awareness on current development of instrumentation technology and knowledge of different codes & engineering standards as applicable.
  3. The candidate should be capable of reading & understanding the P&ID, PFD, System configuration drawings, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, cable layout & instrument installation & hook-up drawings etc.
  4. The candidate should be capable of doing fault finding in instrument control panels with electronic/ pneumatic control logic and sequence control & safety shutdown devices.
  5. The candidate should have adequate knowledge of safety related instrumentation system used in hydrocarbon industries.
  6. Experiences on Advanced Instrumentation Systems like PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), Field-Bus Technology (FF, Profibus), SCADA, Distributed Control System (DCS) e.g. STARDOM/DeltaV/ AC800F, drilling rig instrumentation system etc. will be an added advantage.
Job Profile:
  1. Attending instrument breakdown reports received from Oil & Gas installations with proper planning and record keeping utilizing optimum resources available in a cost effective manner.
  2. Preparation of preventive maintenance schedule of instrumentation systems and execution of the same in consultation with respective Sectional heads/ Installation Managers.Duliajan – 786 602, Assam- :
  3. Repairing, servicing, calibration & testing of pneumatic and electronics instruments on day to day basis in instrumentation workshops utilizing available test/calibration equipments and keeping test & measuring instruments of instrumentation workshops in good operating condition.
  4. Strict adherence to ‘Safe Operating Procedures (SOP)’ including prevailing safety policy & practices of OIL and other statutory regulatory bodies like OISD, DGMS.
  5. Monitoring & control of inventory, stock & spares of various instrumentation systems.
  6. Requirement analysis, identification of suitable instrumentation system with proper technical specifications and installation & commissioning in field installations.

Leave: The selected candidates shall be entitled for 15 days paid leave every six months which can be availed to a maximum of 5 days at a time.
